I just bought a new Fatal1ty headset to use on steam and in various games. However, when I talk to my friend on steam (I have tested this with a few people) he says he can only hear me very quietly. I have the microphone volume in volume control turned up all the way and I have mic boost on. Is this a problem with the microphone? Is there any way to fix this, or should I just return the mic. Kinda off topic I guess... Could anyone either recommend a good, comfortable headset with high sound quality (I listen to music a fair bit) that works well in-game, or at least direct me to where I should ask such a question... Thanks in advance.
Ok, I installed new drivers and the mic worked fine for a while earlier when I was playing tf2 and talking on steam. Now its back to its crappy reception again! Can someone please help me fix this... It was definately working earlier.
I've even installed Audacity and looked at the microphone input. It barely goes above the halfway mark, and I can barely hear the playback. As I mentioned it was working perfectly for a while earlier, yet it keeps doing this. Should I just get a new sound card?
Actually, no. My headset does not have a USB input. As I was saying, I'm not sure whether I need to get a new USB headset to fix the problem, or just a new soundcard. I've decided that I will probably get a new soundcard. Are there any good ones for around 20 Euros? I only have a headset, so I don't really need 7.1 surround sound or anything, I just want a soundcard that will give me better sound quality, allow my microphone to work, and not cost much...
