Hi
My first email :-) be gentle.

I have in my house one good enough computer PIII 1GHz (Win2k+Linux) and one junk (PII 233MHz, 64MB RAM, Win98 right now)
I'd like to set up this junk computer as graphic terminal using better machine so I can watch movies (with sound) in different room.
I tried VNC but it seems like it's good for window control and is not able to transfer video fast enough, and no sound of course, so no good.

Is this possible? How? What do I need?

Thakns in advance for any hints.

essentially you could link the two monitors together with the appropriate cable, and watch it that way, but i don't think what your asking is possible.

Unless you could do remote assistance or similar and take control of that computer playing the movie, and watch it that way.

Yeah, that's the point, how to take control to have video and sound transmited to junk computer? or rather how to redirect video and sound stream from good computer to junk one?

I know how to redirect interfaces on Windows and Linux systems easily, but doing this for video is trickier. The caveat is that the 'junk' machine must still be powerful enough to decode the video stream.
