how much faster is the e8600 compared to the e6700?

    e8600 is 45nm dual core and e6700 is 65nm dual core.. 45nm CPUs have a shorter data path so they naturally work faster than anything that's bigger in size. e8600 is newer too and costs as much as a Q6700 quad core. I would skip the bullshit and pay $50 more for the Q9550. A solid quad core 45nm CPU. If you want to save some money and overclock go for the Q9450 it's the same price as the e8600.
    Intel's production line for these processors is far enough for us to assume that they have perfected their architecture, and that all of their current CPUs work at relatively the same max clock speeds.
