    Hello All ,

I am needing to buy an ADSL router so that I can Connect to my broadband internet from another room without trailing wires !

Can anyone tell me a what is the best buy for just connecting the one computer wirelessly. Which router and the best computer attachment. I have a 2mb internet connection using an Voyager 105 ADSL modem.

    Thank you

    Ady

is your modem a USB or Ethernet modem? because i think an ethernet modem is what you would need for most of the wireless routers (unless someone can correct me, i am not completely sure)
EDIT: there may be another way, i'm currently trying to find it but i have seen somewhere a network system that runs through power outlets in your home, you just plug in 2 of these little boxes and you canrun the network signals through your homes electrical circuit. it might not be what you want though but it does mean you only have to run a wire from you computer to the nearest available plug socket (usually not too far away)

In my house broadband is provided by a Belkin Wireless ADSL Modem/Router. There are various computers connected by a variety of connections including wireless PCI cards and PCMCIA cards and I have a network of computers connected via a Belkin Wireless Access Point. In toal there's probably about 12-15 computers sharing the same modem. It's very easy to set up and quite reliable. There may be other ways to connect them but the arangement here works!

Precisely, technically it's got four Ethernet connections but they're not used, only the wireless interface. Al I need to do, even under Linux, is set the computers network card to use the modem/routers DHCP service and by using the Wireless Access Point I don't even need to worry about installing drivers! Bliss!

cool, i think i'm going to have to set up a wireless/wired network in my house soon, my mum and me are going to be getting laptops sometime. My mum maybe this year and me next year before university and it would be good to have wired for my desktop computer as it is and then wireless for the laptops so i've been looking at the wired/wireless modem router combo's.
