i got a special version of xp pro!!

    Boooya!

    i've got a special version of xp pro which doesn't need activating! i got it off the council who pays thousends to buy it and then can install it on as many comps as they want, including mine! well they didn't exactly let me have it, but they don't know that. has neone else got a special version?

    It's the Corporate edition. The one companies buy.

    They buy one cd and several licenses and make copies of that cd.

    I got it too. *don't tell anyone*

    Some colleges offer deals on software to students and staff. I know that's how I got my copy of XP Pro...otherwise I'd have stuck with Win2k in all likelyhood. It's obviously some type of corporate build since it doesn't require XP activation.

    Since this is pushing the limits of piracy, I see no need to keep this thread open.

    I have that edition of XP Pro.

    Its not strictly speaking a copy.

    I don't have the original CD, I didn't pay for it, but I have to rely on a copy of a copy to reinstall it if necessary.

    Therefore, its legal.
