Hello, i just got a new sata 250gb hd and a controller card, my os runs on an IDE 80Gb hd, and i can't seem to get the new sata detected. It might be the drviers which i'm workinig through right now, but i have a two part question. Why else wouldn't the sata be detected, and once working, can i transfer all the files from the old os hd to the new sata hd and use the sata as my operating system one?

You're going to have to install the drivers for your RAID controller before you can use any drives attached to it. Also, due to the nature of Windows I believe you'll have to reinstall your OS in order to boot from the SATA drive.

P.S. - With SATA, there's no master/slave designation. That terminology only applies to IDE. :)
