IE opening as very small window

when i open up internet explorer (i dont use it all the time but seems ms want me to use it when checking for updates), window is only about 1 inch square instead of the usual full screen. any ideas on what could be the cause?

Right click on the shortcut > properties > Run: Maximized > Apply > Ok.
It should now open maximized everytime you click no the icon.

thanks, that worked. just one of those annoying things that happen and such a simple answer. i thought it might have been a virus or something
