Is it me or has Itunes 7 been a complete faliure? I have over 20k songs and when i start it up it takes about two minutes to 'load the library' then runs as slow as hell if i want to listen to anything, and then come to copy anything to any of the Ipods around the house it's a joke! I catch either itunes.exe or the system process running at 99% cpu time, completely killing my computer. And what kind of media player needs to 'save itunes library' every time it closes, i've started to just kill the process right out.

Ive tried reinstalling and moving all my music into the one folder, even a full format and re-installing windows it was getting me so angry!

Is this happening to anyone else, ive searched around and can't find anyone with a similar problem?

Well, not brilliant, I built it half way through uni and I know it needs upgrading:

    AMD Barton 2500+
Epox 8RDA+ (but I stopped overclocking)
    1.5Gb Crucial pc2700 (3x512)
    128mb 6600GT (MSI)
    2x160gb WD HDD
XP Pro sp2 corp yada yada

But seriously I don't think I should have to upgrade just to use a damn media player :D

Oh just noticed that you have more than 20k songs...
In windows Media Player this happend to me as well when I put all my songs which is around 6K+ in it. It starts very slow and if i want to change a song it hangs for sometime.... So I believe that having lots of songs in the librarary makes the Player slow  Your specs are very good and i dont think if there should be any problem from the systems side to play the music. Try removing all the songs and put some albums in the Library and see how it reacts

I'll give that a go tomoz, it takes Itunes about 2 hours to fully import my music library tho so not looking forward to that again :s

Why Oh Why can't winamp have better ipod support, i'd switch in a heartbeat as I have always used it for general listening.

    No I get that too.

Fergs ideal music player - A version of winamp, that DOESNT have to have everything in a playlist before it will play it i.e. itunes behaviour (you try sorting out 20k+ tunes) AND that works PROPERLY with ipods :D
