I am a PC novice - jus bought PC with 512 installed, and bought an additional 2x1Gb cards. The machine is an Acer, it has 3 free slots. Is there a specific order I would need to install the additional memory ? Do I need to move the existing 512 first ? Help.......

Yes remove the old ram 1st. You no longer need it but hang onto it. If there are only 3 slots then they probably go 1 2 3 . the ram only goes one way on the mobo. If you look on the bottom of the ram and the mobo you'll see how you need to install it. press down till the clips hold the ram securely.

Be careful with the RAM! Its quite susceptible to being damaged by static electricity so keep it in a antistatic bag or it'll be toast. When installing make sure you earth yourself before touching it., and your mobo and other components for that matter otherwise your PC might get damaged and not work. The easiest way is to touch the power supply from time to time as you're working.

Cheers - successful ! I now have the 2x1Gb installed and all running great.
I have another challenge - I have a TV card I am trying to feed via a Digibox - no joy. Not sure if I am trying something that isn't possible however the advice I received was that the RF ourput from the Digibox could be received by the card (Hauppauge WINTV PCI FM card). Any thoughts ? Thanks Dave
