As advised by members of this forum i am abondoning my slot 1 motherboard for a much easier upgradable socket 370 unit...i have decided upon the Intel BI440ZX. I have just purchased from ebay an intel celeron 1.2ghz cpu...ok wait a minute, i have just checked the max cpu speeds for this board on intels website and they are telling me that max cpu speed is 533mhz?...is this correct?

I'm almost positive that it won't support a 1.2GHz celeron. The 440ZX chipset that that motherboard uses is rather old. I'm not sure off hand, but I believe that it's limited to the support of a 66MHz FSB, which is the first problem. Even if it does, you'll have to have a BIOS release (and the motherboard must support this) that allows for lower voltages the core on the 1.2 Celeron requires.
