Intel C2Q8300 2.5GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 920 (2.8GHz) AM2+

    Intel C2Q8300 2.5GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 920 (2.8GHz) AM2+

    I am looking for hardware to run VPS's. Can anyone tell which one is better deal to run the VPS
    Intel C2Q8300 2.5GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 920 (2.8GHz) AM2+
    Both are quad core.

    I would personally get the Intel chip because I like Intel.

    I would choose the AMD phenom II because its slightly newer and also the memory controller is intergrated into the cpu = less latency more bandwidth. Where as the intel processor the memory controller is on the northbridge so its gotta travel through the system bus which will create more latency.

    if it was core i7 vs AMD phenom I would choose the Intel core i7 because its latest tech also has a new system bus QPI and their motherboards are very high end spec, the dedicated bus is still the same DMI.

    What's VPS?
    Have a look here for comparisons between Intel and AMD.
    One of them will probably answer your question...
