i just found that Intel has a new form factor with a very intersting cooling solution, which look a lot similar to a G5 by the way, anyways i was just wondering how long its been out for. crap, ment form factor
Intel's BTX for factor i dunno exatly how long it's been out for, but i heard of it ages ago, maybe a year or 2?
Intel's BTX for factor Yeah, about 2 years is right. The point of it was to improve cooling, but this is one push Intel hasn't really gained as much support on as you'd typically find from them. Overall, it's not a bad move, but the airflow design tends to neglect the expansion slot area. On one hand, the video cards orientation is such that the GPU's would be facing up. The down side is that air isn't really going across them, so the real push to get it to bump ATX off the map isn't going as well. It does work very well compared with a similar ATX solution, but it's not enough to ramp up consumer demand (for those who care about it).
Intel's BTX for factor yeah it does look pretty cool i didn't even know it exhisted, oddly like i had said earlier it does resember that of a Apple G5's cooling solution only a little smaller. thanks for the reply now i know.
