one of the possible major reasons why the "internet is going to run out of space" would be the base structure. For most places in the US, this is the case, as well for developing countries. If they upgraded from coaxial lines to fiber optic cables there would be way less if an issue. That said, it seems plausible, but not very probable.

There's also the issue of the shrinking available address space with current ipv4 technology. I wonder when ipv6 is going to be phased in.

yeah, thats right, i just thought about that now that you mentioned it. Yeah, the internet is something like the fuel industry, its so wide spread, it will probably take a decent long time to do any kinda of real renovation. That said, do you have an opinion as far as the internet "running out of space"
