Uhh can anyone tell me of any optical mice that perform flawlessly? Im currently on my fourth optical mouse. Ive sent back three and am about to send back this new one which is a packard bell optical mouse. With all four ive experienced the same problems. The cursor regulary drifts and shoots randomly across the screen making it impossible to play games and internet surfing is touch and go as I often click pop-ups by accident. I thought these problems only affected wireless mice but it seems both types suffer. My brother also has an optical mouse and gets the same problems. THIS JUST ISNT ON when will a company address this problem. The market has been almost completely taken over. Ive tried fowarding my opinians to logitech, microsoft and packard bell and all have ignored me :crash: There also too bloody light. The first one I had to add some taped up pennies inside.
I'm using a £3.99 one off of ebuyer, and have never had a single problem with it. Ever. Do you use a mousemat? I have found on that when using a mousemat the optic gets screwed more easily than with out.
Logitec. I've has this mouse for a while, it's been beaten and been swimming! Great mouse, costs a little more then the usual but it's worth it!
Have to say your best bets are either Logitec or Microsoft, Personally I have always found that Microsoft are cheaper when i've gone out to buy one.. and so thats my choice, although the Logitec range does tend to be better ergonomically.. I have about 4 Microsoft Intelli Optical Mice and i use a Intelli Explorer 3, which i love, brilliant mouse, pick one up for about £20 or so.. An Intelli Optical Mouse will cost bout £5-£10 max Although if u have big hands a Explorer 3 would be better as they are bigger..
I've used 3 Intelli-optical mice and they've never been a problem. I always use my mouse in a wooden table without a mat. It seems to stay cleaner that way.
You say it seems to stay cleaner without a mouse mat? But that must mean you still get a bit of malfunction. We all know that the wired ball mouse never fails so I just dont understand why technology has moved to optical. Wait a minute yes I do, its marketing thats all
