    Hello,

I currently have a PC with a P4 Northwood 2400 MHz, overclocked to 2700 Mhz.
I use my PC to do a lot of number crunching, like audio coding and decoding.
I am trying to figure out if a newer faster PC is really worth the upgrade.
I have my eyes set on the Core 2 Duo, yet I do not know what performance
advantage I can get over my current system. Can you refer me to benchmarks,
that compare the older Intel P4 CPUs, with these new Core 2 Duo? Thanks.

Since you will end up excessively crossposting this Q until
you buy a new PC, the answer is yes it's worthwhile and yes
I can refer you to benchmarks.. but I'm not going to
because you can do your own web searches.

Yes even the e6300 which is the cheapest conroe CPU will absolutely destroy that system you have there.

Go the the New Build Section and post your budget and youll get suggestions.

In the meantime id suggest you take a look at some benchmarks and let them convince you that you need to upgrade.
