just out of sheer curiosity, i know that an xbox is composed of parts that are used in computers like an mx nvidia vid card and hd, dvd-rom etc. but since thats all true does that mean that XBOX is an operating system or an integrated part in the motherboard?
XBox's OS is a tweaked version of Windows 2000. It runs on the hard drive, but in a section which is marked as read-only by its special BIOS.
i once read in a magazine that workers of the linux actually hacked the system and used d xbox to operater linux based applications..m not sure but they did open the xbox n do some stuff to it..i read it in a mag b4 last year..ill get some info next time i post..
Yes, you can hack an XBOX and run Linux on it, since it's just a PC at heart. But it does take some modification to do.
a mech assault disc, the original not game of the year or anything. A usb pen drive, some special linux for the occasion i can't remember which. Also an adapter used for some games that enable a usb pen drive to be plugged into the controller is used. You just load the linux off the pen drive through mech assault.
So the developers of mech assault intended this to happen? Surprised they didn't get sued for or something.
