yet more performance woes from me. hopefully it will be the last. anyways, i cleanup up my computer and then i tried to install and play cs, but when i use opengl mode the game runs a bit too slowly but when i switch to direct 3d, it runs a lot better but all the text is seriously lagged and difficult to read

    my system spec are:
    hp omnibook 4150
GenuineIntel x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 1 (i believe its SUPPOSE to run at 600mhz, but a utility i ran reported it to be just a bit shy of 500mhz)
    384.0mb RAM
ATI Rage Mobility (but i use the XPERT 98 AGP 2x Drivers)
    Maestro Sound card

i took a screenshot but i am unsure as how to put it up... if it is neccessary tell me and i will try to upload it somewhere

ImageShack will host it for free, and it'll even make the forum link for you; just cut & paste.

thanks for the help, i uploaded a screenshot and here it is. its a bit small, becouse the website limited the size to like a megabyte but hopefully its helpful. everything in game looks fine but any text (including in the main menu) is jagged like that

Wow, that is nasty. If you're not already running DirectX 9.0c, try updating to that version. Also, download & install the latest drivers for your video card.

if you're running cs 1.6 opengl should run better than all the rest. Try lowering the resolution to 640x480 *all the pro's use it anyway.
