I recently removed a Fujistu MHT2060AT hard drive from an HP notebook. I connected my USB-to-IDE cable to back up the data and everything was fine. Drive was detected and files were accessible.

However, after I restarted my PC with the drive still plugged in my PC wouldn't boot..I'm guessing b/c of the OS conflicts. So I unplugged the drive and the PC booted fine. After Vista loads up successfully I tried plugging the Fujitsu hard drive back in and I got an error saying "Device driver not successfully installed" WTF! I've done this same thing with the same drive more than 20 times and it had been working just fine just a few minutes ago.

I tested a different drive with the same cable and it seems to work. So now I think my drive is failing to spin up. How can I fix this?
