Laptop won't recognize a Seagate Mometus ST9250410As Drive as External Drive

    I just purchased a Seagate Momentus HD Model ST9250410As for use (with an external enclosure) as an external USB drive for my Dell Latitude E6400 laptop running Windows XP Professional.

    Windows XP indicates that the drive is operating correctly and recognizes that the drive is installed. However, the drive does not appear on Windows Explorer for access. I have check that the driver is current, and it is. The green light on the drive enclosure is "ON" and the drive feels like it is spinning.

    Any guidance in allowing me to access the drive would be appreciated.
