    Hi,
I've bought a new laptop in the sales, and it came with a DVD ReWriter. Before I go and buy and Discs for it, I'm confused as to which I'll need. Windows says it's a DVD-RAM drive, the sticker on the laptop says it's a DVD-Super Multi double layer, and the spec page (http://www.easycom.co.uk/cnetspec/LX.AG30J.056.htm) says it's a DVD±RW (+R double layer) / DVD-RAM - integrated... whatever that is. Does anyone know which type of discs I need to buy? The laptop is an Acer Aspire 5051AWXMi.

    Thanks, Thomas

You can buy CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-R DL, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R DL and DVD RAM discs. RW discs are erasable, and DL means double layer (9 GB). In other words, it can burn any kind of disc, except HD DVD and Blu-ray discs.

Any type of DVD? Ok, Thanks. I didn't know there were drives that could do that.

These drives are popular, and therefor much sold in stores and bundled with new computers.

Whenever you see the words 'Super-Multi' you know it guarantees industry wide media support. I'm sure my CD and DVD reference will help with any other queries you might have.
