    Hello everyone.

I got a ps3 some days ago and I'm having some issues using it on my PC monitor.
I have a LG 24'' W2452T LCD monitor, capable of full hd 1080p.

The problem is, when I play a game that does not support 1080p resolution, and only 720p, the image gets stretched and blurry which doesn't look nice at all.

I've been reading about this and it seems that the main problem is that my monitor uses a 16:10 aspect ratio, and the ps3 uses a 16:9, and that is why the image gets stretched and looks blurry.

My question is, shouldn't I be able to make the monitor use black bars on the sides instead of stretching the image? this way I guess the image would look like a real 720p and also be very sharpen.

    Any ideias?
    Thanks in advance,
    Cheers

Are you using HDMI cable to connect to the LCD?

You should have a option change the 1:1 mapping in your monitor settings, which might make the black bars appear. Do you really notice much difference?

edit: oh do you mean have the monitor only show 720p screen size? doubt that's possible. I play 720p games on my Dell 2407 and don't see much distortion at all.
