I recently bought a 24" iiayama for £140. Yes £140. Quality is great.

However in the run up to chirstmas I started noticing lots of talk of 3d and LED monitors, and I'm left wondering whether I wasted my money on this monitor and should have waited and spent £100 for a next gen 3d/LED monitor.

Is it really what it's all hyped up to be? or just a fad?

LED monitors are thin and have very nice quality. Although I personally wouldn't buy a 3D monitor, because it's still required to carry special 3D goggles when viewing 3D material. So my personal advice would be don't yet buy a 3D monitor, but a LED monitor is okay to purchase. It still takes a couple of years before 3D monitors are usable without goggles.
