ok, obviously i can't freely post again on my previous thread. But let me explain. I bought my computer last year and it was built using all authentic not pirate copies of the required discs including WinXP. But the guy who built built it took the copy of XP with him, so now i dont have a copy of XP, and thats the only reason, im not a thief, i already bought it a year ago, i dont see why i should have to buy it again.
no i do not, i dont know if that's because he built it from different parts, not like a package deal. Really i dont know what i'd be looking for anyway, i never knew you needed a sticker?
I want to help you, but I also don't want to set a negative precident on these forums. Unfortunately in your case, you've been ripped off. If the person who built your system charged you for Windows but didn't provide you with a license (usually in the form of a sticker on your PC), he basically stole your money. If he installed it without charge, you still don't own Windows either way. There are operating systems that are free to distribute, but Windows is not one of them.
ok i see your point, i also think that world has gone mad. Pc forums generally are set up to help people who are having problems, not to judge them because they dont have official copies of certain programs. It's not like your gunna loose your job by helping me. Do you work for microsoft? are you bill gates? If not then i'd like to know why you care that i dont have an official copy of WinXP?

I don't like Microsoft at all, did you notice my signature? I didn't pay for Windows either, but then again, I'm not running it. Never did I judge you, make comments about your character, or anything else of the sort. Normally I wouldn't even ask if somebody had a legal copy of Windows when they ask for help, but you came right out and told us you wanted to install a copy of Windows you don't own. If you don't feel I'm being fair with you, feel free to contact one of the other two admins for this site. But if you don't keep it civil while you're here, I will ban you without a second thought. I'm not obligated to help you, neither is anybody else here, yet we help countless people without pay and most often without so much as a "thanks for the help". That being said, what happens next here is entirely up to you.
ok, ive sorted it out. Ive just took a trip down to our local microsoft drive through and bought an Official copy of Win XP and i also picked up one of those little OEm stickers that go on the side of your computer. Now can you help me?
