Hi all. Just started my pc which was running without any problems until i came to play some music & it said my drive could not be found. Yet when i go into my computer & disc management my drive is there with 149gb of free space. My question is can i recover my 110 gig of music or have i lost the lot? & why have i lost it? Cant say at this stage coz if ur HDD is dead but still spinning then u probably be able to use some data recovery softwares to recover the Music.. Things looking bit confused here...You are trying to say that ur HDD is160GB, out of which 110GB is full with Music and u can still see that 149GB free space in Disk Management???
yes thats right. i've checked my computer and gone into management & it says i've got 149 free space. Has the drive died. Cheers LeeBert
First try Microsft Chkdsk utility... assuming ur drive is D:/ Type in Command Prompt... chkdsk /d /r If prompted(checkdisk during startup) then Press Y and restart ur computer.. See wat it says~!
