Well, if you're looking for a pre-built LAN box or a powerhouse for the dorm or apartment, you might head over to [H]ard|OCP to see their review of the Maingear X-Cube. The system we ordered came in at right around $2000, including overnight shipping. We generally expect to pay a premium for an SFF system due to the special engineering concerns involved, and we generally expect to pay a premium for a machine from a boutique integrator like Maingear. However, that didn’t seem to be the case this time around. The X-Cube was superior to the recent Hypersonic Phantom GX in nearly every way, from hardware and integration to performance and support. And it was about $400 cheaper to boot. Considering what a system like this would cost from Falcon Northwest, two grand looks like an outright bargain. Aside from a virus issue, they seemed very pleased with another Maingear experience.
