I've been looking at buyin a new hard drive and want to know which one is considered better? I can only afford one right now, and am leaining towards the maxtor 250gb sata with 16mg cache. This seems to be a great drive, but for some reason i can find only minimal information on it. Later on, plan on possibly adding a second maxtor of the same type in raid 0. What do i need to run a raid 0 config? keep in mind i'm already gettin the asus a8n sli deluxe

Personally, I'd recommend either some SATA2 Seagate drives, or some higher-end Western Digital drives. Maxtor has a well-earned reputation for being untrustworthy, and I haven't seen anything lately in their quality which says otherwise. All you need for a RAID-0 is two similar drives, preferrably identical. Keep in mind though, that although you effectively double your HDD access speed and burst transfer rates, you're no better off than with a single drive as far as redundancy is concerned. If one drive dies, you lose the whole enchilada.
