how do i install drives for a motherboard? the file is... P5RD2-VM-ASUS-0702.ROM cheers i dont have a floppy drive
firstly, did your mobo come with a driver CD, if not you could download drivers from your mobo manufactures website, but you'll need to know make & model of mobo
That's a BIOS ROM file, not a driver. Unless you need that update for something, I suggest you do not update it. A driver is a piece of software that works with the motherboard chipset in communication with other pieces. I can guess from the P5RD2 string of what it probably is, but until I know for sure what I can't recommend the proper drivers. Drivers are usually packaged in a .zip or .exe file. If it's a .zip file, unzip it to a folder (for example, C:\Drivers\mb\Asus (motherboard model). If it's an .exe, just double-click to let it run.
yeah, i know what ROM stands for but as i said i thought all BIOS update files were *.bin but i must be wrong again (as usual)
