How much memory can I safely install on a 6.04GB harddrive...I have 2 slots...1 with 32MB and one with 128MB...I want to replace the 32MB with a 256MB...giving me 384MB memory...can I do this? :good:

Yep as long as its the same type of RAM (SD-RAM i'm guessing) the its ok. But I'd check your mobo manual to see if your mobo supports it as some of them are picky.

thanks addis!! you're right...it's the old type of RAM not the new DDR ( I think it's called )...as for the mobo...I have no idea what a mobo is and I definitely do not have a manual...unless it's on my computer somewhere...second-hand system..no manuals...no OS CD's...no instuctions...etc...

I'm unaware of any hard drive that you can install more memory on...unless you're talking about RAMdrives. ;) But, yes, check your motherboard manual for the memory.

You can usually find a pdf manual if you know the model number of your mobo on your mobos manufactureres site.

    mobo-motherboard

If you download something like [google]CPU-Z[/google] then it will tell you the model and make of your motherboard. Then you go to the manu's website and find a PDF version of the manual.
