I have a MSI K8M Neo-V, VIA K8M800 + 8237 Chipset. I am looking to upgrade the memory but i dont know what sort i have the following information below, but do not know what it means.

RAM Support - DDR 200/266/333/400 x 2, up to 2GB

Anybody???

this sort of upgrade is really simple. because you only have 2 slots, you have to make sure you've made up your mind on how much ram you want. if you just run basic applications in windows, 512mb should be enough (2x 256 or 1x 512) but if you play games, i suggest you go for 1 gig (1x 1gig or 2x 512) about that DDR 333, DDR 400 etc. those are the frequencies of the ram. the higher the frequency, the higher the bandwidth. so get RAM modules that are DDR 400.

Also, try to keep the modules the same brands if you're planning to use 2. I'm not saying it won't work, but for stability's sake, try to keep it the same brand.
hope this helps

Thanks for the replies, from the information given i am thinking of buying this item, please tell me what you think.

it depends,
if your just using the system for general use (word processing, general brosing, email) then you wouldn't really see the benefit of 1Gb so stick at 512Mb

but if you want to do some serious gaming, or are heavly into using spreadsheets or video editing then you would be restricted by 512Mb so you'd be better with 1Gb

but yeah, those DIMMS appear fine,

hope i was helpful

the specs look fine, but as donkey said, you might want to stretch it to 1gig if you play games. but 512 should be adequate.
