After recently unsuccessfully attempting to push my CPU to 3.6 GHz (Qx6700 Quad Core 2 Duo 2.66 stock) I decided to settle for 3.36. It seemed to run fine as the temps where mid to high 40s on idle. I decided to power down to wait until the next day to start stress tests, however now on boot my PC won't go past post. My mobo usually posts ram, followed by CPU then the rest of the stuff, but now it's only posting CPU and freezing, also the fans in the comp start going into overdrive. My ram works fine as I tested it in another PC, also my video cards are fine since I can actually see the post screen. I first thought it might be my CPU however since I reset the bios the new post shows the correct stock clock speed and it doesn't seem that the CPU would post if it were fried. Also I tried different ram in the mobo and it still does not post or move past post screen. Can't use keyboard either at that point. All lights are lit up properly and I get no error codes from the mobo so I'm wondering what's going on and if anyone has any suggestions. I've already contacted the manufacturer (waiting on response) and have done a hard CMOS boot and reset bios with the jumper. lower you memory latch if you have one. Your memory may not be able to be stable at that front side bus.
