monitor fading color and "flashing"

hello,
I hope this is the correct place to post this and ask for some opinions.
Hardware is not something I am good at.

For a while now my monitor has been fading colors and kinda flashing/flickering, then it clears up and works great for hours or even days.

Lately it has been more consistent. I am pretty sure it is not the monitor itself because when it first started I replaced the monitor and the new one is doing the same thing.

What would be a good place to start to correct this??

I would think if it is happening on multiple monitors that it would be a graphics card problem.
