Most of the time, when I boot up my computer, my monitor fails to work. I will turn the power on and press the on button on my machine. My moniter comes on with the power but then the light flashes and no image appears. I have to turn the power off and try again. It can take up to ten tries for an image to appear on my screen and then it works fine whilst Im using it.

I have windows xp home with Sp2. Intel Celeron 2.4GHZ 512mb Ram. My graphics card is a Geforece MX 440 with AGP8x, my moniter is a Philips 107e5.

Ill be thrilled if anyone can help me :)

First try it with another monitor to make sure it is that thats causing the problem. If you still have the same problem there may be a problem with your PC, like a dying PSU. If it fixes it then you'll be better off just replacing your monitor, CRTs store 25000V~ in them so its not safe to service it yourself.

Firstly, I don't have another moniter to test. Secondly, what is a Psu and thirdly, my dad is an electrician so I think it might be safe for him to service the monitor.
