Monitor

I recently have been using an LG LCD TV for my monitor as my current monitor broke. I was cleaning my room while installing XP and all of a sudden the bottom part of the display started to fade. Eventually the bottom 1/3 of the screen just died, when I turn on my monitor there are purple lines accross my screen which just keep changing colors depending on what I try to do. The rest of the screen is still functional and I have tested the TV channels and other AV modes and they all have the dead bottom part.

I am not sure what the model is as the monitor is borrowed and I don't even think the monitor has a warrnanty still left so theres no chance of being able to get LG to fix it. Does any one have any ideas?

Thanks.

There's really not much you can do. I'd make sure that it's not the video card in your box and test it on a known good system, but there's not a whole lot you can do. If it's got a warranty, make use of it. Otherwise, it's time to buy a new display. You may be able to pick up a used CRT at a local shop for a reasonable amount.
