Hello HF members. This problem has started happening 3 days ago, i have spent most of that time googling and fiddling with setting and such, to no avail :-(

Whenever i am playing my games and i move the mouse the game will lag severly, however while moving using the keyboard it is fine. So far i have found that it happens in Call of duty 2 + 4, World of warcraft and tactical ops. However it works with Battlefield 2.

    Solutions tried so far:
changing mouse, both PS2 and USB.
    Re installing drivers.
    changing game settings

As changing graphics settings had no effect and moving using keyboard is fine it leads me to believe that it is a mouse problem. However as i have tried different ones and installed drivers, it can't be. To conclude; I dont know WTF it can be!

Short video and a good song to it ^^:

Any Ideas? Thank ye for ye time.

I know that optical mouses some time dont read the mouse pad but it might be a lack of power in you computer or something in the background is using up your CPU. i know some computers cant play some of the higher graphic demanding games even on low. if that was happening to me i would update my graffics drivers to the latest and run a virus program and spyware. after that if it wasnt fixed i would reinstall my Operating System.

Thanks for giving us the video. That's no mouse lag, that's liek.. mouse skip, there's a big difference. Good news: a case of mouse "lag" would have been a lot more mysterious than this skipping issue.
Sorry, but you had me confused before I saw the video.

I have no idea other than the problem has to do with updaterates somewhere past your user interface. Your mouse is reading, and it's updating normally because otherwise your mouse woudn't move at all. Your computer is reading your mouse and definitely registering it's movement and the distance it goes but somehow skipping lots of frames visually.

I almost think that everybody has experienced this same problem on a smaller scale. It's apparent in FPS games when you go around corners while looking at a corner and your screen is all blurry while you move your mouse. Your UI somehow updates slower than your video. ???

I have experienced this in SC:S but most of the time it was because I haven't re-booted my computer in ages. One I reboot everything is smooth. I would be very interested myself if this forum ever finds the reason as to why this happens.

    Best of luck to you.
