    Hi!
I've recently bought a new computer with an ASUS P5LD2 board. Everything is fine except for one thing : As soon as I install my Intel Chipset Inf drivers, Windows Xp thinks I have a floppy disk... and I don't. The problem is not the ghost floppy disk itself, but when I shut down my computer, I get an error message saying my floppy drive is not ready "Cancel" "Retry" "Continue".. This is very annyoying.

Anyone know how I can fix this ?

    Thanks

Try disableing the device in device manager, see if that works. Are you using Deamon Tools or a similar program?

first to disable FDD you need to enter your BIOS, to do this just press <Del> after POST (beep) in the main screen move curser with arrow keys to select FDD then press <+ or -> to change from [1.44M, 3.5 in] to [disabled] and it will never have the floppy error again
