Hi! I've recently bought a new computer with an ASUS P5LD2 board. Everything is fine except for one thing : As soon as I install my Intel Chipset Inf drivers, Windows Xp thinks I have a floppy disk... and I don't. The problem is not the ghost floppy disk itself, but when I shut down my computer, I get an error message saying my floppy drive is not ready "Cancel" "Retry" "Continue".. This is very annyoying. Anyone know how I can fix this ? Thanks
Try disableing the device in device manager, see if that works. Are you using Deamon Tools or a similar program?
yea at the bios diagnostic thing when you first start up your computer you will get that error, i do on my other computer, it can be disabled from in the bios, maybe boot device priority?, but its somewere in there.
first to disable FDD you need to enter your BIOS, to do this just press <Del> after POST (beep) in the main screen move curser with arrow keys to select FDD then press <+ or -> to change from [1.44M, 3.5 in] to [disabled] and it will never have the floppy error again
