Hey all, I recently bought a new LCD TV. Buy Bush LCD26TV016HD 26in HD Ready LCD TV. at Argos.co.uk It says it can support a resolution of up to 1366 x 768 pixels. But on my desktop settings it says I can't make it any higher that 1024x768. What's with? Thank you. Brad.
Well, TV have issues with supporting computer resolutions, that and they are on different standards, the Broadcasting resolution standards and the computer market standards. That said, thats the highest non wide screen resolution your TV will support. Look in your graphics driver toolbar and see if you can set your resolution that way, as you might have more options. Do you have and ATI or Nvidia graphics card.
I am using NVidia. Ok update.. I have gone and bought a DVI to HDMI adapter and a cable and have connected it all up. I put my resolution into 1280 x 720 and the screen was cutoff but about 1 inch all around. I used the NVidial control panel to adjust the resolution so it wouldn't do this anymore. However, like many people I like to have my resolution so everything is crisp and small on the screen. And with the screen only being 720 high I can only fit 8 icons in a column on the desktop. My TV guide says it can support up to 1920 x 1080 i @ 60hz max, whatever the i means and it can support 1280 x 720 p @ 60hz max, whatever the p means. I tried chaning my dektop resolution to 1920 x 1080 and all the icons were blurry and barely readable. Is there a way to fix this?
in short, no. On that, do you have everything figured out now, or are you still fuzzy on something. Yeah, the screen thing is because of the different standards, TV's are 16:9 and computer monitors are 16:10.
Well after much consideration I have decided that connecting my PC to an LCD TV is far too much trouble that it's worth. I'm gonna go get a refund and buy myself a nice little 22" Samsung (2ms). Thanks for the help anyways. And yeah PS. I pretty much did get it sorted.
