Hi. I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask this, but here goes.
I currently have a 2x (i think) DVD drive. It does not burn discs, but plays DVD's.
I would like to get a new one, that:

    Plays DVDs
Is fast for gaming (eg 52x or 48x)
Can burn CDs, but not DVDs.

Is there a drive that can do this? If i want to plap DVDs, do i have do get a DVD rewriter/ burner? or can i get a card that plays them, burns Cds not DVDs.

Thanks. Any help will be appreicated

Its not a graphics card you need. If you don't want to burn DVDs then you will be ok with a relatively cheap DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive. Gaming performance doesn't depend on optical drives, apart from load up times. Any brand should work fine. Sony, Toshiba etc are all good and will cost you no more than £30 for one.

Oh yeah, sorry about the title. So if i brought one of these, i would just have to take the old drive out and then put in the new one?
Also, can you recommend any DVD-ROM/CD-RW drives, that are relatively fast.
    Cheers

Yup. Just swap drives, unless you've got some really old box (something older than a Pentium II), you should be fine.

Personally, I like Samsung. They make some of the most reliable drives and are pretty inexpensive. This one would be a good choice, not to metion quite affordable. Also, Newegg is a highly reputable company to buy from.
