Need help with power point

I have a biology pp project due tommorow and I saved my work on a floppy disk to finish my work at home. I brought it home and put it into my computer and when I try to open it and it tells me that the disk has not been formatted or has been formatted for a macintosh so I click on ok and then it says that my A drive isnt accessible and that the media on the disk is not recognized and that it may not be formatted.

WOW and to really complicate matters while I was typing this I tried to open it again and now its telling me Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

I have never had a problem with this and I have saved files on floppy disks that were in the same container from my school and brought them home many times before. I saved a pp file from my comp to a floppy and opened it up just fine so my A drive must be working properly.

I need help fast and if anyone can offer anything that would be great.
I guess this is what I get for procrastinating.
 
remove the circular magnetic disc from inside the hard plastic and put the magnetic disc inside another floppy disc, then it should work
 
Well good news. I didnt have to present my powerpoint today so no pressure. But I tried to remove the disk and I ripped it but like i said no pressure I can just do it in AE tommorow.

whoa, really?? why? What does the floppy disk's outer plastic cover have anything to do with it? I thought that files simply get corrupted on floppy disks every once in a while just cuz they're unreliable, and that u can't do anything about it. Cuz I remember when I had to trouble myself with floppies (b4 I was blessed with a USB flash drive) I used to get that message about the floppy drive not being formatted, even after I saved a file on it fine. I always just assumed it 'died' on me or something.

no, the data is actually stored on the small thin magnetic disk, the hard plastic just protects it, so if your pc tells that the disc is not formatted just put the thin magnetic disc inside another (new) hard plastic parts, yes the disc could be knackered but the data will probably be still on the magnetic disc, so just replace the hard plastic, i suppose you know how to turn a DD disc to a HD disc.
 
No i realize that the data is on the magnetic thing and that the plastic cover just protects it, haha ... I was asking something else: it doesn't make sense to me why the outer cover would cause the problem. I would think that the plastic/metal outer cover is the straightforward part of the disk. I mean, anyone can make a plastic cover. It's the magnetic strip that stores the data that's the heart and the fundamental invention of the floppy disk, right? So, logically, if the computer is having problems reading data, I would think it's cause something's wrong with the magnetic thing. After all, the computer doesn't read anything off the stupid plastic cover. So how does it happen that the cover causes these problems with reading data, even while the magnetic strip is fine??

i don't know, but it usually works every time, you probably also think the original size of a CD-R was 650Mb - not 1.5Gb as it was possibile to write.
