I want a program that will run on Linux that can do very basic photo editting. I use the GIMP, but I don't want to deal with that for how simple the tasks I want to do are. What I want to do is resize pictures, rotate, and crop. See, GIMP is a little bit of an overkill.
I use GIMP myself for everything from basic to simple photo manipulation tasks, it just has a slight learning curve one must overcome. That being said, there are less powerful programs, for instance KDE has applications like kolourpaint or kpaint that should do what you want to do. I'm sure there are similar applications native to Gnome, although KDE apps will work with other desktops as well.
