I just bought a new Samsung 22" lcd monitor (SyncMaster 226BW) and my video card is an ancient Geforce FX 5200. The problem:

My video card has a DVI port, but when i hook up my new monitor to it - Nothing. The system detects the monitor, but aside from that nothing happens.

I tried to Dualview my 2 monitors (the others an old crt), plugging my new monitor into the analog port, and (using an adapter that came with the video card) plugged my old crt into the other (DVI) port. The crt does nothing.

I have the latest driver for my card.

How do i get my new monitor to work with the DVI port?

a new advancement: hooking up my old monitor to the dvi port via adapter works, but using the dvi port for the new monitor still doesnt work.
