So i just ordered a new rig off tiger direct and for some reason, none of the back panel connectors are working. Everything seems to be properly connected but the moniter and keyboard and everything just won't come on. I'm hoping it's not a defective mobo but I have no clue as to what else might be wrong. Here is the bundle i bought:

    XFX GeForce 8200 Socket AM2 Barebone Kit - AMD Athlon X2 5000+ 2.60GHz Processor, 500GB SATA II, 3GB DDR2-667, NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT, ATX Mid-Tower Case, 450 Watt Power Supply at TigerDirect.com

    Any help would be appreciated!

Make a new start, take everything apart

Now only connect the essential things like CPU, memory, video and PSU. You could also try a different PSU if available. If nothing comes on then its does point to a defective motherboard.

did you try a different power supply? if theres power going to the motherboard there should be tiny LED light lit up.

theres no possibility of anything sorting out on the back of the motherboard is there? try it out of case on a non-conductive suface. And try a different PSU as mentioned by Sniper
