Hi, first off, i dont know if this is illigal, it doesent seem to be as you still have to use your LEGIT CD KEY, but if it is violating anyhting, sorry, and please remove it.
Anyway, i found this software, its called Nlite, this enables you to make a custom Windows xp cd, all you need is your origional windows xp cd, you then copy the whole contents of the cd onto your hard drive, when in Nlite you then browse and look for the copied xp folder, once its found you can go on to do a whole lot of stuff.
These include:
Intergrating a service pack into xp, i intergrated service pack 2, i chose not to have the security center, and i can disable firewalls and stuff like that etc..
Intergrate drivers, i looks for the .inf files in the sound driver, ide driver and ethernet driver etc.., i then placed these in nlite, now these drivers are intergrated into windows xp, as soon as xp is installed i can use sound and other things etc..
Remove components: this removes lots of windows components, infact i got rid of about 100mb worth from the cd by removing all languages and keyboard layouts that i did not need!, using the remove components i got the 680mb instalation down to 240mb, and all the things in windows that i needed still works, just loads of rubbish and other services were removed.
In Nlite there is an unattended setup option, on this you enter your CD KEY, admin name, password, computer name, your ip and primary and secondry DNS ip's, and default gateways so you can connect to the internet straigt away, also regional options aswell, this way when you usually run the xp setup, you have to fill all this in, you dont now, even the boxes dont come up, onces you get onto the xp isntalation its all done by itself.
A while ago i posted on HWF asking if there was any software to get rid of all the rubbish windows installs, and this does it, it also makes windows go super fast, when it intergrated service pack 2, it slipstreams it too.
I would say this app is pretty decent, anyone who is tearing there hair out with how slow windows xp is could use this app. It's a shame that with this app you cant add more applications in, so then you could create an instalation so that you install, and your ready to do, your firefox browser is installed, your faviourate games etc.., would save alot of time.
the link to there website is nLite - Deployment Tool for Unattended Windows.
Sorry if this has gone in the wrong place, was not sure were to place it.
