I got a wierd noise comming from my CPU, or my MB. Both r new, bought them like 4 days ago. The noise is always happening when the cpu is working, game, starting something. I wonder if its normal (probably not) or may be a problem. Heres my cpu

    3200+ XP
    Giga-Byte 7N400-L
    1gig of PC2100
    Radeon 9800 Pro 128

Now, i got a problem with the memory, and the FPS... gonna get new memory 400Mhz soon, maybe it will fix my extremly slow cpu, more than my 1800+. And maybe its the source of my noise but, dont think so.

If any know what could make the sound, the MB or the cpu, could be nice, and if theres a solution.

What does the noise sound like? Is it coming from the system itself, or from your speakers?

like an high frequancy noise, comming from my case, not my speaker or fan, and only happening when the cpu is working

I've heard that before, from a failing PSU! What kind of PSU do you have?

It could be caused by some weir wave of sound. I dont think it is your fan but it might be. If it is that means the fan is un balanced. It also might be if you have another peace of hardware in the computer that picks up a different MHZ wave. If I only dose it when the cpu is working hard it might mean something to do with the power that it is getting. When i works harder it asks for more power so that might be an issue. I think it really has to do something with the frequancy with some peace of hard ware in the computer. Check over all your hardware for any things that would conflict. It might just be your power source.

I agree with AT. If its a high pitched noise then its porbably coming from the PSU supplying extra power. The CPU and mobo don't make noises as far as I know.

My PSU is a Enermax 450W, bought it at the begining of the year, so almost 11 months old.

But it sound the most possible reason so far... does a 450W is starting to be too low for
    3200+ XP, Radeon 9800, 4 Case fans, 2x Cd-Rom, 2x HD ?

But im checking again and, the sound realy seem to come from the new stuff i bought, CPU+MB.

Update: Ok, it seem to be a bit worst now, i can hear it now when im moving with the scroll of my mouse... if its the PSU, its going down hehe

No 450W is more than enough for that. But I'm not sure whether Enermax is a reputable PSU maker.

Enermax is a very good brand, if the psu is the problem, then you should RMA it because that psu should last much longer than that.
