My nortan unerase wizard, keeps telling me I have no connection, I went in and made sure it is enabled, and it still wont open?

Also I recently had someone remove some spyware off my comp. and now I cant put a desktop background on, it just stays a plain grey color, what can I do there?

Update your AV software and do a virus scan. If you don't have any then you can download AVG free edition at www.grisoft.com.

If you have norton AV and scanned with it,addis's advise still applys, you are having problems with norton.a on-line virus scan is a good way to double check, if you have a anti virus, and install another to check it with you will trash your system with two running.

    ^^free on-line scan.
your notron unerase wizard, part of system works, right?
if so do you use XP? if you answer yes to that, did you use speed disk and/or disk doctor? if you did most versions of those will trash XP...it corrupts xp file system, even worse if you have SP2. There are a few patches on the symantec site, but it is still better not to use it.
