Hi gents and ladies, a Dell issue (groan) !! I have recently been given a NVIDIA GeForce 440 MX graphics and as the original card is a 420 I assumed it would do a straight swap. The driver has loaded fine and all was well, great resolution and such except the PC runs so slow it's painful to watch. Any ideas or is it that the Dell paperwieght isn't able to deal with this card? I'm back on the 420 now and everything is cool again. The card was working fine before it came to me so any other suggestions people?
My Dell is the 4500 2.5 P4.

Well, the 440MX wasn't that much better than the 420. They're both GeForce 2MX renamed under the GeForce 4 MX badge with a clock speed boost.

I would uninstall the 420 in Device manager and then uninstall the nVidia drivers in the Control panel. Shut it down, put in the 440 and then hit nVidia's website for the latest driver support for the MX400 series.
