I'm running Ubuntu and just the other day, installed the KDE desktop. Now, when I go to save a newly-created document in Open Office 2.0, I select the 'save' option, but the dialog box comes up and asks me where do I want to save the document as a 'save as' option. In other words, in trying to save a new document, you can only actually save it as a 'save as'. In itself this is no problem as the document saves anyway (I just found the whole issue oddly amusing). Now, if I switch over into the GNOME desktop, Open Office 2.0 lets you save new documents under 'save' - which of course seems normal. I guess my trivial question is: can different desktops make applications behave differently or could this just be a KDE bug/anomily?
