Overheating

I have just built 17 new machines for our library but they keep overheating, shutting down, and will not come back on for over one hour. The PSU is 350w, and the processor is intel pentium 4 550 3.4 ghz (The fan came with it). Any solutions?
 
Pretty beefy systems for a library :D

Firstly, if it is over heating, check the HSF(Heatsink/Fan) is properly seated on to the chip. Make sure either thermal paste or a pad is applied properly.


And...

350W will not be enough power to run that kind of system, a 3.4ghz will need at least 400W from a non-generic brand, like Antec or Sparkle.

Perhaps you can find out what PSU brand it is?

Have already checked that all the fans are seated properly!
The PSU is Enlight model GPS-300AB-100 U.
Is there any way we can slow down the processor?

its not recommended but through bios you can lower cpu speeds as well as overclock them, or set a lower multiplier but that option is often blocked via bios.

maybe 1 fan isn't enough, try out with one computer if you put another fan in, if theres space, if the temp will change
