Hi, when i try to burn a video my p.c freezes, the only thing for me to do is to press the reset button.
My dvd rw will play dvd and cd, burn audio to a cd and data to a disc, but when i try to burn video to a disc after a while, my pc just freezes.
Ok to help you, here is what i'm using, and what i've tried already. Without success...
    Windows xp sp2
    1gb ram
    200gb hard drive
    Sony dvd rom
    Sony dvd rw
    Nero 6 reloaded

I've uninstalled nero then ran their clean tools, to ensure my registery is clean, then reinstalled it.

I've also uninstalled my cd/dvd rom drives and the ide controllers. On reboot widows found these again ok.

I've also ran adaware, spybot and avg anti virus. All came back clear.

When i try to burn a copy onto dvd, i use nero vision express, all is fine as it transcodes the video file, only when it tries to actually burn it to disc, does it stop, not just the process but the entire machine. I've tried different video's, also, this problem has only just started, as about a month ago i did some dvd's without a problem.

    Any help welcome.

    Hi,

This kind of fault is always frustrating
I'm no expert in this area but information is power so,
Using computer management under <Control Panel> <Performance & Maintainance> <Admin Tools> <Events Viewer> check what the system is actually failing on, it will give you a better idea of the problem. Again I'm no expert but I found that once I had upgraded from 1Gig to 2Gig of RAM it was more stable while burning :D
I use the same Nero tools and have no problems, however I have found that if you attempt to do anything else while it is running it normally fails. When burning DVD's I usually either leave it over night or do something else :)

    Hope this helps :D

it is a good idea to check the root cause of the problem.
Also, try to use any other DVD burner program like this one [link=http://www.cdburnerxp.se/download.php]CD Burner XP[/link] and see if the problem remains...
