    Okay so here's the story.

I've had my P5Q for almost a year now. Every now and then i've had a little lock up in Windows 7 x64, no big deal. But not the lockups are happening more and more often and now it's so bad that I cannot get into Windows. I updated the BIOS to 2102 (latest) and no difference. Now, it will POST after a long amount of time, or it will restart itself, or it will not post at all.

I do get beeps if I take out the GPU/RAM. I know the PSU isn't bad and I know the GPU isn't bad, so that leaves it to the CPU/Mobo/?.

I have a three year warranty on the board, so if I have to do an RMA I think I'm eligible... the only catch is I had to "mod" the original heatsink/heatpipe that connects from the northbridge to the voltage regulator for the CPU. I had to cut the heatpipe in order to remove the NB heatsink and watercool it.

Of course, I did a good job and nothing was spilled on the Mobo. The system ran fine after the installation. CPU/NB/GPU are all watercooled, the temps are never above 45C so heat damage probably isn't the case.

The only thing I'm really worried about is if i do end up having to return the board, will they accept it if it doesn't have the heatsink/heatpipe? And if they don't, can I buy the OEM one somewhere?

    [oh and duh.... (edit)]

    Specs:
    Q9400
    P5Q Pro
    HD4890
    10000RPM VelociRaptor
    4GB (2x2GB) Corsair 1066 RAM
    TX750 PSU
    Watercooled CPU/NB/GPU

Thanks for reading my long post :)

Weeel bummer nobody was able to help. But that's okay, I purged and got myself:

    Core i7 920
    EVGA x58 LE
    G.Skill 1600MHz triple channel.

Can't wait to unleash the overclocking potential!!
