hi had to reboot today using XP home now i did have four partitions now have only one others missing and all data that is on them the partition is only
2gb out off 120gb? how do i get the rest back :(

partitions are bad anyways. You shouldnt be using them as they decrease performance by a good 8%. As for your problem, sounds like you are partitioned using the FAT16 file system instead of FAT32 or NTFS. Use NTFS or FAT32 and youll be good to go

Partitions are not "bad", partitions offer piece of mind for backups, security and private information, for the majority of users, an 8% loss in performance from your hard drive is nothing in comparison to the loss of important personal / private files or the security of backups or the ability to manage your files, folders and programs on a large hard drive, or a drive with substantial numbers of files, folders or programs.

Why do you think that he would be using FAT16 on XP?

unless he used Windows 95 to create the partitions, then formatted, then installed XP but decided to leave the file system and partitions intact, they would not be in FAT16..

Noel, make sure that your jumpers are correctly set on the appropriate hard drive(s)
